The detour is the point.
Le Grand Détour is a taste-led guide to the concerts worth traveling for — the few nights where the artist, the room, and the city line up.
Most tour stops aren’t worth a flight. A few absolutely are — the right artist in the right room, in a city that deserves the weekend around it. The trouble is finding them: tour dates arrive as a firehose, and nothing in the firehose tells you which night is the one.
So we built a magazine around a scanner. It reads whole tours, scores every stop — the setting, the timing, the room, the getting-there — and keeps only what’s worth your while. We’d rather show you three trips you’d actually take than three hundred you won’t.
Name the artists you’d travel for and where you fly from. The scan judges every stop on every tour against your departure city — the flight, the dates, the venue, the city itself — and returns a shortlist with the trip already sketched. Save the ones you’re serious about and we keep watching them; start a caravan and friends can watch a list together.
- The show is the anchor; the city is the reward. A great gig in a city you’d never otherwise visit beats a good gig anywhere.
- “Skip” is a verdict we’re proud of. Telling you what isn’t worth the trip is most of the job.
- Your taste stays yours. No ad trackers, nothing sold — the details live in our privacy policy.
- Verdicts aren’t for sale. Some booking links may earn us a commission; it never changes what we recommend — or what we tell you to skip.
